1828: Christian Heidsieck and Henri-Guillaume Piper assume the control of the House. Piper promotes their wines. The House of Heidsieck becomes the official purveyor to 14 royal courts, including those as far as Siam and China!

1953: Marilyn Monroe declares that she goes to bed every night with a drop of perfume and wakes up every morning with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck.

PIPER-HEIDSIECK CUVÉE BRUT

As the epitome of crispness and radiance, Cuvée Brut defines the essence of the House style of Piper-Heidsieck.

Elaboration

The majority of the blend of Piper-Heidsieck’s signature Cuvée Brut is composed of Pinot Noir. Hand-selected parcels of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay also play important roles in the elaboration of this well-balanced cuvée. The blend is aged for a minimum of 24 months on the lees before release.

Tasting Notes

Nose – Bright, fresh morning during the early days of May. Notes of citrus fruits, Granny Smith apple and subtle hints of warm toastiness follow spring blossoms such as hawthorn.
Palate – Lively and fresh, with more mature notes of pineapple, nutmeg, white pepper and oriental zest.

PIPER-HEIDSIECK ROSÉ SAUVAGE

With its intense pink colour and joyful aromas, this is rosé champagne as seen through the extravagant lens of Piper-Heidsieck.

Elaboration

Audacious, contemporary, elegant and playful, Rosé Sauvage is unlike any other rosé champagne. This is a rosé champagne made through assemblage in accordance with the regulations of the Champagne region. The dynamic colour is obtained through the significantly higher proportion of Pinot Noir vinified as red wine before being added to the blend. 24 months of aging in the cellars complete the magic.

Tasting Notes

Nose – Lots of fresh red fruit, especially Morello cherries. Notions of mandarin and grapefruit combine with hints of cinnamon and figs.
Palate – Exuberant and warm with aromas of red plums, clementines and blood orange – and just a touch of pistachio.

PIPER-HEIDSIECK CUVÉE SUBLIME

Delightfully rich and crisp, Cuvée Sublime is a pure experience of indulgence and refinement.

Elaboration

Although the blend of Cuvée Sublime is based on Piper-Heidsieck’s emblematic Cuvée Brut, this wine has a personality all of its own. With a generous dosage and an additional year of aging in the cellars, this wine represents luxurious bliss.

Tasting Notes

Nose – Ecompasses aromas of African violets, dried apricots, sultana raisins, caramelized pear, crunchy praline, nougat, cinnamon and dates.
Palate – Soft and warm, with delicate hints of vanilla, rum pastry, gingerbread and candied lemon peel.
